What it does.
Write the essay
- MLA, APA (student paper) or plain, on US Letter with 1 inch margins
- MLA heading block and running head; APA title page, page numbers and three heading levels
- Works Cited and References start a new page, with hanging indents
- A word goal, find and replace, spell check and History
Hand it in
- Export a Word document (.docx) or a PDF
- Open the Word files you already have
- A clean essay by default
- Or include the AI record: as Word comments and an appendix, or as a separate file
Your own AI, on your terms
- A connector your AI app starts, for apps that support MCP connectors
- You switch on what it may do, essay by essay: read, ask questions, comment
- Wording suggestions are off until you switch them on, and never more than a few words
- Nothing it sends is put into your essay. You accept each suggestion yourself

Your essay is a plain Markdown file. Its history, its notes and the AI record sit in a hidden folder beside it, so moving or backing up the essay takes everything with it.
If that folder goes missing, the essay still opens; the app says so and starts a fresh record.

Can I use it if my class bans AI?
Yes. The connector is off until you turn it on, and the app works without any AI. Check your course’s policy before you use one.
What does the AI record prove?
It shows exactly what passed through Bōcere: every comment and suggestion, and what you did with it. It can’t show what you did in other apps, and it doesn’t claim to.
Which AI apps work with it?
AI apps that can start a local MCP connector. The app’s setup screen walks you through connecting yours.
Do I need an account?
No. Student has no account, no sign-in and no server.
